Studio Brésoles Bursary Recipients
We are thrilled to announce that Mirkko has been awarded the inaugural Studio Brésoles Bursary for Young Artists. Mirkko is a Visual Arts student at Cégep du Vieux Montréal. We are impressed with their work and see great potential in their artistic abilities. Congrats Mirkko!
In their own words: “I've been drawing since the first day that I could hold a pencil. It's one of the strongest and most enduring constants in my life. After completing a DEC in languages, I felt a void, a lack: I needed to make more room in my life for art. This feeling was the trigger for my integration into the college Visual Arts program.
Since my immersion in the world of creation, I've been developing my skills and refining my techniques. I've also incorporated skills developed in my previous training, such as traditional Chinese ink calligraphy, into my personal style. My works celebrate the human body in all its forms and seams while integrating drawing in different ways out of a love of technique and its multiple mediums.”
We are also pleased to announce an honourable mention to Aliyah Collantes who is a Visual Arts student Cégep John Abbott and will be studying at Concordia University next Fall. We are also impressed with Aliyah’s talent, and wish her all the best in her studies at Concordia!
